For those who missed the chance to see some of Australia's top pole dancers compete in the Risque Amateur Pole Competition last Saturday 7th October at the Wanderlust Gentleman's Club, Canberra. Now is your chance, we're here to fill that void and give you an update on the nights events.
Let's begin with the gorgeous judges and guest performances, with their extensive background experience in pole dance we couldn't of hoped for a better group of athletes to judge this years event.
The first guest performer and judge is the amazing Coco! Coco is the current three time Miss Pole Dance NSW! She is the 'other' half of Cocobox the winning Pole Theatre Comedy duo 2016. We where so honored to have Coco guest performing and judging at this years event.
The second guest performer and judge is the beautiful Felicity Logan! Felicity has won numerous titles including the overall title of Pole Theatre Sydney 2017, Miss Pole Dance Doubles 2017, Dance Filthy 2016 as well as Miss Pole Dance UK!
Last but not least is the third guest performer and judge, the luscious Ruby! Ruby is the owner of Polekadot and a teacher at Bobbis Pole Studio in Perth! Known for her flawless flow and seductive sexy style.
The anticipation building up to the Risque Amateur Pole Competition was intense, with numerous inquires and demands for workshops from all three judges. Coordinator Katy Eve, owner and instructor at The Brass Room, kept up with these demands by organizing workshops with all three judges the following day and opening them to the public, whilst pulling through the final touches of the Risque Amateur Pole Competition 2017.
Doors opened 3:30 pm at the Wanderlust Gentleman's Club Canberra, as a flood of patrons filled the event. Families, friends and followers were eager to browse the latest pole dance clothing at some of the wonderful stalls, grab a drink and find their seat.
4 pm and it's show time! Hosting is the gorgeous Dixie an instructor at The Brass Room, with her rocking bod and seductive ways she won the hearts and parts (if you know what we mean) of the audience.
The Risque Amateur Pole Competition was a sold out event! Sold out, yes! and with competitors like this, it's no wonder why. 26 girls from three divisions hit the stage to battle it out for a chance to win the ultimate title. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced divisions had the audience fidgeting in their seats with anticipation throughout the night.
Starting with the Beginners Division. These five beauties defined the word foreplay. With judging limitations to no upside down tricks, these girls worked the floor and pole using the most basic pole moves critiqued to perfection with their own personal sass, a prime example that even in your early stages of pole you can be as sassy, sexy and brave as these girls had shown.
Now lets not forget the girls who started the tickle to our fancy. In the Beginners Division was Mikayla, Miss Megi, The Jesster, Ava A Trix and Ally B Shakenit!
After some fun play with the pole cleaners we moved on to the Intermediate Division. Judges limitations to no handsprings or static V's.
With or without handsprings and static V's, these ladies sure made the audiences jaws drop! Taking off more than we imagined, these girls surely left little to the imagination. Yet, in spite, left us in awe with the possibilities of the human body, lets just say, there where some hot pants tonight, and we're not talking booty shorts!
"The intermediate Division was intense, you could see how hard the girls worked just to secure a place. They all looked phenomenal, beautiful and just the right mix of sex and sass." - Jessica Keller CEO Vigorous Array
Showing us what their made of in the Intermediate Division was Naveena, Jeanie, Flexi Lexi, Lynn, Ivy Blue, Emily Le'Strange, Van Nguyen and Jacinta!
Intermission time! Guests take the time to refill their drinks, check out the venue, mingle and browse the fabulous stalls briefly before the Advanced Division starts.
Advanced Division no judges limitations, competitors can have previously placed in an amateur pole competition.
Ending the night was the Advanced Division, and can we just say WOW! With 15 competitors, this line up was not to be missed. The floor was wet with sweat as these ruthless ladies pumped up the crowed with moves made of gold, perfect and flawless was an understatement for the Advanced Division.
Lining up to battle it out in the Advanced Division was Jay Elle, Wenna, Princess Zoe, Alex, Charlotte, Aurora, Miss Lucy, Roxy, Loren La Roux, Tatiana, Jade, Beltane, Cara, Sofia and Pepper Rox!
With the night coming to an end and the judges deliberating on the final results the guests where in an uproar as it was announced Katy Eve owner and instructor at The Brass Room and coordinator of the event was guest performing for us tonight!
Winner of practically everything, she hit the floor with effortless moves and smooth transitions showing us the true definition of the word "Risque". Rolling in rose petals, she was like a diamond in a sea of zircons. Before hitting the pole with sure elegance and strength in true Katy Eve style.
